Studio 100: huge brands in both animation and live action

Studio 100 International, the Munich-based production and distribution company, is attending MIPCOM 2025 with a diverse slate of high-quality children’s and family entertainment, utilizing its strength in animation and live-action formats. The company, which manages well-known brands such as Maya the Bee and Heidi, is presenting several titles that combine popular concepts with themes of identity, teamwork, and imagination.

The slate features a number of series adapted from successful books and theme park attractions. The animation Mortina (52 x 12′ and S3 26 x 7′), for example, is based on an internationally successful book series and follows a young zombie detective who solves mysteries at Crumbling Manor with her quirky «Mystery Squad». Similarly, the animation series Dino Mates (26 x 11′) draws inspiration from a picture book series and an attraction at Germany’s largest theme park; it focuses on two children who discover and must protect real, living dinosaurs that display incredible talents.

In the animation category, Louca (26 x 24′), adapted from a successful French comic book series, tells the story of the clumsy protagonist Louca, whose life transforms when he is coached in sports and life by the charming ghost Nathan. The action-adventure comedy 100% Wolf (Season 2: The Book of Hath) (52 x 22′) continues the saga of Freddy, a fluffy pink were-poodle who must lead his friends through challenges, proving his worth as a pack leader despite his unusual form. Another animated adventure, FriendZSpace (52 x 11′), follows three human kids who travel into space to locate and befriend alien children of various shapes and sizes.

Mortina, animated series

The distributor also offers specialized titles for younger audiences, such as the preschool CGI animation Vegesaurs (100 x 5′ including new seasons 4 and 5), which puts a fresh spin on the dinosaur genre by encouraging themes like friendship and healthy eating through the adventures of young Tricarrotops Ginger. Additionally, Momonsters (78 x 7′ total) is a 3D animation with live-action elements where five eager monsters attend an academy to learn how to be best friends with human children by trying out their favorite activities.

Finally, the slate features compelling live-action projects. Gifted (10 x 28′), a light-hearted action-adventure series, is set against the gothic backdrop of Edinburgh and centers on a diverse group of Scottish teens who discover and must master their unique superpowers while being hunted by a powerful organization. The live-action series Waiko (10 x 22′) follows an alien girl named Nova, her robot Ion, and their human friends as they embark on intergalactic adventures, working to save other extraterrestrials and the world while keeping the alien presence secret at a local fairground.

Mortina, a clever young zombie, solves exhilarating mysteries at Crumbling Manor with her quirky Mystery Squad—friends both undead and alive, plus a heroic greyhound.

Adventure, Action, Comedy – 26 x 11 minutes – Target: 6-10 years

Two kids expect a boring summer with Grandma – until they discover her secret adventurous side and suddenly must take care of real, living dinosaurs.

Waiko

Sci-Fi, Comedy (Live Action) – 10 x 22 minutes – Target: Tweens

Alien Nova, robot Ion, and their human friends protect Earth from cosmic chaos, turning a retro fair into headquarters for action, friendship, and intergalactic adventures.

BFF

Comedy – 26 x 11 minutes – Target: 5-8 years

Ben the bear, Frida the squirrel, and Freddie the cat tackle life’s ups and downs, proving true friendship overcomes any differences.

Momonsters

Comedy, Education – 104 x 7 minutes (2 seasons) – Target: Preschool, 3-6 years

At Momonsters Academy, five eager monsters learn from children’s favorite activities — from soccer to baking — proving friendship grows through play and curiosity.

Vegesaurs

Comedy, Adventure – 100 x 5 minutes (3 seasons, seasons 4&5 in production) – Target: Preschool, 4-7 years

A fresh and unique spin on the dinosaur genre, encouraging curiosity, friendship, and healthy eating through the adventures of young Tricarrotops Ginger and her friends.

FriendZSpace is a hilarious animated comedy about three human kids committed to making friends with alien kids all across the supercluster of stars – and sharing cool selfies.
