All3Media International closes Global deals for Jesus: Crown of Thorns

All3Media International and Nutopia have begun an international expansion of the docudrama Jesus: Crown of Thorns, with two new seasons to debut on FOX Nation in the U.S. and multiple global broadcast deals.

Jesus: Crown of Thorns tells the story of Jesus’s life as a political thriller, combining action-driven, character-led drama with insight from renowned experts and faith leaders. It portrays his rise as a revolutionary figure in 1st-century Judea who clashed with the secular and religious powers that competed for control.

Two additional seasons are in the works for FOX Nation in the U.S.

All3Media International has also secured global distribution deals for the series, with Hearst Networks Africa taking the pan-territory rights for Africa and RTL acquiring the series for Germany, Austria and German-speaking Lichtenstein, Luxembourg and Switzerland. The specialist documentary channel DOX TV licensed the rights for various Balkan territories, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Kosovo and Slovenia.

Additionally, SVT in Sweden, RTP in Portugal, DR in Denmark and Michal Winnicki Entertainment in Poland have picked up the rights to the series. Now TV secured the digital rights for Hong Kong and Macau.

Jesus: Crown of Thorns is directed by Hereward Pelling (The Lost Pirate Kingdom), with Alex Dwiar as showrunner. Jane Root and Ben Goold serve as executive producers.
