CJ ENM announced its plan to launch a new production company CJ ENM Studios, which will be added to the company’s existing powerhouse Studio Dragon and recently acquired Endeavor Content.
Korean corporation also confirmed Yong SooHa, former EVP, Head of Business Development & Investment, as the CEO of CJ ENM Studios. Joined in 2018, he will oversee business strategy and M&As. The new label will focus on OTT content production for a global audience and will cover a wide spectrum of different genres. It also plans to recruit star talent/creators and expand its presence through M&As of top tier production companies.
A CJ ENM spokesperson commented: ‘Alongside existing production powerhouse Studio Dragon and recently acquired Endeavor Content, the new studio serves as another base camp for content production. The strategic move to this launch comes at a time when there is high global demand for K-content, and the multi-studio structure will serve as one of CJ ENM’s core global competitiveness’.
The three studios under CJ ENM are part of the company’s plan to strengthen its global content production and multi-studio structure. Studio Dragon, the production company behind global hits Crash Landing on You, Hometown Cha ChaCha, and Sweet Home, announced its plan to increase its scripted content production volume. Endeavor Content, recently acquired by CJ ENM, will not only produce content but also utilize its robust global network for CJ ENM content distribution.
