Con un line-up de nuevas producciones en marcha, The Mediapro Studio está presentando un sólido catálogo de series en LA Screenings 2024. Además de sus títulos listos para entregar, la compañía destaca algunas series que se encuentran en producción y en posproducción.

Uno de los títulos de su catálogo es Celeste, una serie dramática creada por Diego San José y protagonizada por Carmen Machi. La serie sigue a Sara Santano, una inspectora de Hacienda cuya vida da un giro inesperado cuando le encargan demostrar que la famosa estrella latina Celeste reside en España y debe impuestos. Con millones en juego, Sara se embarca en una misión que desdibuja las líneas entre la realidad y la cultura de las celebridades.

Otro punto destacado en su listado es The Famous Five, una reimaginación de las queridas novelas de Enid Blyton. Producida por Nicolas Winding Refn, byNWR y Moonage Pictures (el sello independiente de BBC Studios), la serie sigue a cinco jóvenes exploradores que se embarcan en emocionantes aventuras llenas de peligro y misterio. Con The Mediapro Studio a bordo como productor asociado, The Famous Five promete ofrecer un viaje inolvidable impulsado por el poder de la camaradería.

Para los fanáticos de los thrillers de suspenso, también se encuentra la serie Quiet, que ofrece ocho apasionantes episodios coproducidos junto a 3Cat. Con el telón de fondo de una Barcelona desierta durante la pandemia de COVID-19, la serie sigue una serie de brutales asesinatos contra personas sin hogar. Mientras la ciudad se enfrenta al miedo y la incertidumbre, se produce una búsqueda incesante de justicia, que desentraña oscuros secretos en el camino.

Completando la programación se encuentra Witness 36, una emocionante serie de espionaje que recientemente ganó un prestigioso premio en Series Mania. Producida por Oficina Burman (The Mediapro Studio) y dirigida por Daniel Burman, la serie sigue a una escritora enredada en un romance con un hombre misterioso cuyo pasado refleja una de sus creaciones ficticias.

The Paradise

The Finnish crime detective Hilkka Mäntymäki and her Spanish colleagues: Andrés Villanueva and Luisa Salinas, need to re-unite and start a new criminal investigation, after a dead body of a Finn is found from a golf course, near the town of Marbella. And as they shall see: the carefully hidden corpse is not the last one to come.

The Crime of Father Amaro

Based on the novel of the same name by Eça de Queirós (published in 1875, in the midst of great controversy and protests of the Catholic Church), “O Crime do Padre Amaro“ is a series of 6 episodes of 45 minutes.
The plot unfolds in the Portuguese city of Leiria, at the end of the 1860s and follows the story of forbidden love between Amaro, a young priest, and Amélia “the most beautiful girl in Leiria”.
Tense, emotional and anchored in personality conflicts, the series “The Crime of Father Amaro” is an ever-current vision of human relations and of a hypocritical and puritan society of the 19th century.

The Head

After the failure of Arthur’s experiment, his daughter Rachel, funded by the head investor Laurent, sets up a base in Bir Tawil, a lawless and completely isolated territory in Africa, to investigate how to eliminate the toxin that makes the algae poisonous and finally solve climate change. After genetically modifying it and testing it on animals, the time comes to try it on people. They will pay 5 guinea pigs to drink several doses of the water with the algae to prove that it is safe for humans, but what Rachel doesn’t know is that Maggie has made a deal with Laurent to join the trial as a doctor on the team. Everything seems to be going well until a new murder and a new missing head unleash the nightmare all over again.
