As the new Director General of Contents, Adrián Ortega Echegollenwas assigned to face some of the most important challenges of theleading Spanish-speaking media group.
The executive appointment is part of a reorganization of the Mexican giant media conglomerate, led by Benjamin Salinas Sada, CEO of TVAzteca Group. According to his words, the promotion of Adrián Ortega Echegollenin replacement ofSandra Smester (who has moved to NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises) is aimed to form a more horizontal and collaborative structure.

Ortega has more than 15 years of experience in programming and promotion of multiplatform content. He joined TV Azteca as Vice President of Programming for Azteca 7 and Cable in November 2017, leading the FTA channel to reach historical audiences thanks to its innovative programming and quality productions.
His experience in the selection and programming of content, as well as in the design and implementation of transmedia campaigns is part of the consolidation of the TV Azteca group as a cutting-edge company, in accordance with the needs and tastes of the public.
From his new position, Ortega aims to promotes creative teamwork to develop competitive and profitable content that will attract more and more audiences.With this nomination and new operating model, the Mexican giant‘remains agile and at the forefront to continue offering the best content and programming on all its platforms for the benefit of the millions of Mexicans who watch them every day’, concluded the executive.
TV Azteca continues to reinforce its main alliances, as the one with FOX Entertainment AVOD Tubi, who has recently added five new countries to its footprint tin Latin America: Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala and Panama, along with its strong position in Mexico.
Over the last year in that territory, and thanks to this partnership,Tubi has seen total viewing time (TVT) grow 60% year-over-year and Total Viewers grow 40% year-over-year. Partnered with TV Azteca, the service serves as the free streaming home in Mexico to TV Azteca’s popular titles.
