Nicely Entertainment: Potential deals and new acquisitions

After completing several agreements at MIPCOM Cannes 2022, Nicely Entertainment attends ATF where it intends to meet the current needs of the Asian market.

The company highlights a strong catalog and also the succes of its productions on various screens.

In an interview with Prensario, Vanessa Shapiro, CEO of the company, assures that they are entering a ‘very strong’ growth curve. ‘We built an incredibly strong MIPCOM and have seen several important deals come to fruition in recent months. With over 20 original movies and 2 scripted TV series premiering in 2022 (including our second Netflix Original), we’re super excited for 2023 to be just as successful’.

The executive highlights that its main objective at ATF is to show their solid list of film and television offerings, many of which have been dubbed to LAS or BPORT.

Among the main titles, a large collection of feature films stands out, including Christmas-themed romance titles, classic thrillers, as well as its first batch of horror titles: ‘We bring to the Asian market several products in the horror genre, a genre of that we have seen very solid results in various markets’ said Shapiro.

Among its recent achievements, the company has signed several deals with US players including Great American Media, AMC+ and UP, as well as international clients including Bell Media (Canada), Channel 5 (UK) and Italia Films (MENA). ‘We have also expanded our Hispanic offerings to numerous VOD platforms, including Pluto TV, Tubi TV and Roku. Although we are always interested in expanding globally, we see Asian market as one of the strongest regions for growth (especially relative to VOD expansion). Many of our partners in the US have already secured a strong presence here and we are excited to grow with them throughout the region’.
