Dori Media: powerful dramas and non-scripted shows

Dori Media Group continues non-stop with its production in Latin America and Israel, generating very strong dramas and non-scripted successes. For the APAC market, it is a global ‘all in one’ solution, with many brand-new contents to introduce.

Haikal Jamari, sales manager for Asia & Middle East from the company, is attending the market. Heading the catalog is Minimum Wage, a scripted drama that aims to explain the struggles faced by immigrants, especially undocumented ones who seek the US to find a better life for their families. It focuses on Puerto Rico ‘Boricua’ people, shot in Los Angeles, USA.

The company also highlights Lalola very much, the Mexican version of a comedy produced by Dori Media in Argentina many years ago, about a man who turns to a woman and has to follow ‘his’ day by day life from this new ‘perspective’. Love appears also… as a woman. At that moment it was an international success. At this time, with the female power on top, tremendous success is expected.

Indal is a brand-new drama that tells how a group of Ethiopian-Israeli youth decide to kidnap the police officer who peppered their adolescence with abuse and eventually murdered their closest friend.  But what started as a personal revenge scheme quickly turned into a massive national protest movement against police violence.

Another title in Spanish that Dori Media is presenting to global buyers is the political action drama Amia (8×45’), based on an original idea by Palti and Yair Dori. Filmed in Uruguay and inspired by the 1992 terrorist attacks on the Israeli embassy and the 1994 terrorist attacks against the Argentine Jewish community, the series will premiere on Reshet 13 in Israel in 2024.

On the formats side, Power Couple is a reality format where 8 couples move into one villa for 6 weeks and each week they’ll have to face extreme challenges that will test how well they know each other. In case they stay loyal and trust one another that will transform into lots of money. It was sold to more than 15 territories worldwide!

The Best of All is a game show where a large audience of people will compete against studio participants. All the questions in the game are visual (video segments), questions with surprising factors, and questions that are fun to watch even if you’re not participating in the game.

300 seconds ride, a fast-moving studio prime-time TV quiz show, where one playing team embarks on a 5-minute ride on a platform called “time track” which runs from one place to the other, so they need to answer 8 questions before the time runs out, to have a chance to answer the final question.
