«Once Upon a Time… The Objects» premieres at MIPJunior

Once Upon a Time… The Objects, animated series

Once Upon a Time… The Objects (78×7′), the new edutainment series, co-produced by Procidis&Samka, in association with France Televisions, will make its world premiere at MipJunior, the entertainment industry’s leading global event for children’s and youth content, to be held in Cannes (France) from October 13-15, 2023. Hot, RTS and TV5Monde are also on board for this new production.

In 2024, Maestro, our protean hero, returns with a new series (the eighth in the acclaimed saga) dedicated to everyday objects, behind which lie a multitude of exciting and amusing stories that the character will unveil.

Each object offers children the opportunity to discover different fields of knowledge (History, Geography, Physics, Natural Sciences, Philosophy) and to learn how they have played a role in the History of Humanity and have shaped the world we live in, and the world to come. The 78 objects range from those that have been around for hundreds of years to the most recent, such as the soccer ball, the drone, pants, lip balm and more. With a decidedly cartoonish and contemporary spirit, Once Upon a Time… The Objects (78 x 7′) is dedicated to making learning fun.

‘Today we celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Master ‘Once Upon a Time’ saga, whose motivation has always been, «To push back the frontiers of ignorance and open those of knowledge.»‘ The program enjoys an undisputed reputation around the world, often affectionately referred to as the «Madeleine de Proust» of childhood. It has become a family program, passed down from generation to generation. So let’s offer the best to our children, so that they have the tools they need to build a sustainable world on our planet’ said Hélène Barillé, President of Procidis/Hello Maestro.

Since its first broadcast in 1978, the Once Upon a Time saga, now under the Hello Maestro brand, has been continuously aired in France and has been translated into 80 languages and continues to be broadcast in numerous countries. Maestro is still known in more than 100 countries.

Backed by a wealth of data and information, the series offers children a way in which they are free to analyze themselves and thus retain information. Science will also become more accessible, especially when it comes to applying it.

A scientific committee certifies, validates and updates all the information contained in the episodes and in 2020 the French Ministry of Education awarded the series the label of «National Learning Program». These programs are decidedly humanist, agnostic, apolitical, non-sexist and have always tried to be impartial, which is why it is worth remembering that in 2013 the Peruvian Ministry of Education purchased books from the magazine Erase una vez… el Hombre for its schools.

The new series returns with iconic archetypal characters that children can easily and happily identify with.

The previous series Once Upon a Time… Man; Once Upon a Time… Space; Once Upon a Time… Life; Once Upon a Time… the Americas; Once Upon a Time… the Discoverers; Once Upon a Time… the Explorers; Once Upon a Time… Planet Earth, the 7 series (26×26′) have become «evergreens» and a reference in educational programs. They are now brought together under the Hello Maestro umbrella brand.
‘I believe buyers can be confident in acquiring this series because we have a great base behind us that works and supports the project. This new series shares all the values that have worked, that are good for people, for parents and also for children. And for me it is important, it is a very good base for education’ added Hélène Barillé.
