As one of the distributors of internationally awarded titles, Polar Star, the company based in Argentina, led by Carlos Kargauer, presents at MIPCOM new titles from its catalog, which includes the film The Night Clerk, starring Tye Sheridan and Ana de Armas.
Directed by Micchael Cristofer (Die Hard, The Witches of Eastwick), it follows Bart Bromley (Sheridan), a highly intelligent autistic night clerk who becomes the first suspect in the murder of a woman during her shift. As the police investigation progresses, Bart forms a special connection with an undeniably beautiful guest, Andrea (de Armas), although he begins to fear that she will become the next target of the murderer who is loose in the hotel.
Also notable is Force of Nature, directed by Michael Polish, starring Mel Gibson, Emile Hirsh and Kate Boswrth. The story follows a group of thieves who plan a heist after a hurricane hits, but they run into a problem when the police join forces to evacuate everyone from a building.
