The distribution unit of The Mediapro Studio is participating at MIPCOM, where are highlighting three titles that are part of its seasonal catalog: 1st and 2nd season of The Head, Las Pelotaris 1926, and the second season of Express.
With 8 episodes of 40 minutes, in the second season of Express, Bárbara will discover that the express kidnappings that have been entrusted to her are just the tip of the iceberg of an industry built and sustained on fear; and that the company for which they work, Zentral Risk, is one of the main protagonists of a far-reaching and magnitude system of corruption that will continue to endanger the life of her family.
The series was created by the Spanish Iván Escobar for the Starzplay platform, this project it’s the first of an alliance between both companies.
Meanwhile, Las Pelotaris 1926 is the first project to emerge from the agreement signed by The Mediapro Studio along with TelevisaUnivision. The historical drama is original by Marc Cistaré inspired by the history of the first professional athletes in Spain. The series had its debut on March 23 on ViX+.
Lastly, the company is promoting the first and second seasons of the science fiction thriller created by David and Àlex Pastor, and David Troncoso, The Head. The story starts after the failure of Arthur’s experiment, his daughter Rachel, funded by lead investor Laurent, establishes a base in Bir Tawil, a lawless and completely isolated territory in Africa, to research how to remove the toxin that makes the algae poisonous and finally solve climate change. After genetically modifying it and testing it on animals, it is time to test it on people. They will pay 5 guinea pigs to drink several doses of the water with the algae to prove that it is safe for humans, but what Rachel doesn’t know is that Maggie has made a deal with Laurent to join the trial as a doctor on the team. Everything seems to be going well until a new murder and a new lost head will unleash the nightmare again.
