Fremantle Italy Group appoints Co-CEOs to lead management structure

Valerio Fiorespino and Alessandro Saba

Fremantle Italy Group has announced a new management structure, effective October 1, appointing Valerio Fiorespino and Alessandro Saba as Co-CEOs. Fiorespino and Saba will both report to Andrea Scrosati, Group COO and CEO Continental Europe. The CEOs of all Italian companies within the group—including Fremantle Italia, Lux Vide, The Apartment, Wildside, Picomedia, and Stand By Me—will now have a dual reporting line to the new Co-CEOs.

Fiorespino has been serving as the interim CEO since December and has been the COO of Fremantle Italy Group since April 2024. His career includes extensive experience at Rai, where he held the roles of Director of TV Resources and Director of Human Resources.

Saba joins Fremantle from The Walt Disney Company, where he was Head of Original Productions and contributed to the launch of Disney+ in Italy. His background includes executive positions at Mediaset and FOX Networks Group, where he oversaw programming, production, and acquisitions. Saba has worked on numerous high-profile productions, including the Berlinale Series Award winner The Good Mothers.

Scrosati expressed confidence in the new leadership, stating that Fiorespino and Saba are ‘two executives of extraordinary experience, competence, and vision, and the Fremantle companies in Italy could not have found better leadership».

Saba noted his enthusiasm for the move, saying, ‘I have always seen Fremantle as a home for creativity and innovation in the service of high-quality content production, both scripted and unscripted – a fertile environment for the creative freedom of directors and writers’. Fiorespino added that he is ‘certain that Alessandro’s arrival will enrich its vision, supporting the authors who are part of our creative “family”’. Both executives anticipate that the coming years will present ‘challenges and great opportunities’.
