Federation: ‘Sherlock & Daugther’, and much more

Federation Studios shows at MIPCOM 2024 its new productions across drama, thriller, and documentary genres. The studio, founded by Pascal Breton and co-led by Lionel Uzan and Marco Chimenz, continues to produce and distribute a variety of content aimed at the global market.

Among the key titles being presented is Sherlock & Daughter, a period drama featuring David Thewlis as an aging Sherlock Holmes. This eight-part series explores the detective’s struggles with his personal and professional life as he encounters a young woman, Amelia, who claims to be his daughter. The show is produced in collaboration with major broadcasters such as The CW (US) and Discovery+ (UK).

Also Curfew, a crime thriller based on Jayne Cowie’s best-selling novel, is features in the lineup. Set in a world where men are curfewed from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., the series explores the aftermath of a murder in this dystopian society. Paramount+ serves as the lead broadcaster for this six-part series.

Sherlock & Daughter, period drama

Additionally, the period mini-series Miss Austen will be highlighted at the event. Starring Keeley Hawes and Rose Leslie, the show delves into the story of Jane Austen’s sister, Cassandra, and her decision to burn Jane’s letters, sparking a narrative centered on literary legacy and familial bonds.

Federation’s documentary offerings include In the Belly of AI, which examines the environmental and human costs of artificial intelligence, and Kabul Chaos, a documentary on the chaotic U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. These titles reflect Federation’s focus on relevant, globally impactful stories.
