El Reino Infantil and YouTube partners for a campaign focused on child safety

Committed to enhancing child safety, El Reino Infantil (Leader Entertainment) and YouTube Kids Brasil (Google) launched the educational campaign “As Aventuras de Bartolinho na Internet” past September 30. Following the success of its Spanish version “Las Aventuras de Bartolito en Internet” and the English version “Bartolito’s Awesome Internet Adventures”, the Portuguese project is now featured prominently in the YouTube Kids app, continuing to deliver quality content for families worldwide.

‘This initiative reinforces our commitment to keeping the YouTube community safe and providing a viewing experience that caters to the interests of young children. With this series, we aim to deliver family-friendly content with a clear and fun message to help kids explore the digital world safely. In this journey, O Reino Infantil was an ideal partner to connect with children using beloved characters’, said Clarissa Orberg, Head of Partnerships for Kids’ Content, Education, and Health at YouTube Brazil.

The official launch of “As Aventuras de Bartolinho na Internet” took place on September 30 at Google’s offices in São Paulo, bringing together journalists, influencers, and families who enjoyed a live premiere of the educational capsules.

‘We had great results with the capsules: the message is communicated effectively, inviting conversations about everyday situations for both kids and adults. At El Reino Infantil, we take our responsibility in publishing content seriously. We emphasize co-viewing, where both children and parents watch together, making the message relevant for the whole family, and we find it very interesting to open up this topic for discussion’, added Paula Lavinia, Head of Publishing & Operations at El Reino Infantil.

For the script development, the project was guided by Belén Igarzábal, a Doctor of Social Sciences and researcher at FLACSO Argentina (Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences), who provided a pedagogical perspective from the start and adapted the concepts of the five pillars of “Seja Incrível na Internet,” Google’s platform that offers games and resources to teach children how to explore the online world. These pillars focus on various concepts of digital safety:

Share with Care: Promotes awareness about the precautions when sharing information, treating online communications as if they were in-person conversations, while emphasizing the importance of not revealing personal data of oneself, family, or friends.

  • Don’t Fall for Traps: Highlights that people and situations online are not always what they seem, and it’s essential to learn how to distinguish the real from the fake.
  • Protect Your Secrets: Focuses on the importance of safeguarding personal information and creating strong passwords.
  • It’s Nice to Be Kind: Applies the principle of “treat others as you would like to be treated” in all online actions.
  • If in Doubt, Talk to Someone: Emphasizes the importance of maintaining open and trustworthy dialogue with responsible adults.

‘The educational tools on digital citizenship and online safety from “Seja Incrível na Internet” have been translated into fun and understandable content for Young audiences. The educational message permeates the stories of “Fazenda do Zenon” featuring characters that children have an emotional and everyday connection with. This way, they can grasp different situations they may encounter in a fun manner. These contents present scenarios with conflict or discomfort, helping children understand potential risks and how to navigate safely, protecting their personal information. The five episodes also serve as a tool for adults, fostering spaces for listening and conversation’, concluded Igarzábal.
