Calinos highlights Farah in its 25th anniversary
Turkish distributor Calinos Entertainment is celebrating its 25th anniversary, kicking off festivities at recent markets MIPCOM in Cannes and MIP Cancun in Mexico, where the company organized events to promote its seasonal catalog.
For ATF, Calinos is placing a strong emphasis on Farah, one of its latest productions. The series is an adaptation of the successful format The Cleaning Lady, produced by O3 Medya.
The story follows the life of an Iranian woman who, after fleeing her country and facing devastating circumstances, struggles to survive in Istanbul as a cleaning lady to support her sick child. Starring Engin Akyürek and Demet Özdemir alongside an outstanding cast, Farah blends drama, sacrifice, and survival into a deeply human narrative that explores resilience in the face of adversity.
Firat Gulgen, CEO and Founder of Calinos Entertainment, stated, ‘We are thrilled to announce that we have numerous programs available for the Latin American market. When we launched this co-production in Romania two years ago, we began by adapting one of our formats, My Life, under the title Adela for Spanish-speaking countries. This series was produced by the Turkish team and became a great success. So far, it has aired in more than eight countries, including two in Latin America’.
‘For ATF, we are presenting Farah. This production is an adaptation of The Cleaning Lady. It debuted in Panama this year with excellent results. Next year, we already have three more countries confirmed, further solidifying its impact in various international markets. We are very excited to introduce it to the Asian market’, added Gulgen.
