Amazon MGM Studios appoints Lauren Anderson as Head of Brand and Content Innovation

Lauren Anderson, head of brand and content innovation, at Amazon MGM Studios.

Amazon MGM Studios has named Lauren Anderson as head of brand and content innovation in a restructuring move aimed at expanding its ad-supported streaming initiatives. This new position reflects the studio’s commitment to integrating brand partnerships and innovative content across its platforms.

In her newly created role, Anderson, based in Los Angeles, will oversee creative collaboration with brands. She will work closely with Amazon Ads, Prime Video Ads, and the studios’ marketing teams to drive advertising sponsorships, integrations, custom content, and brand-supported originals for Amazon‘s AVOD (ad-supported video on demand), FAST (free ad-supported streaming TV), and SVOD (subscription video on demand) platforms.

Previously, Anderson served as head of AVOD originals unscripted and targeted programming at Amazon MGM Studios. She will continue to oversee her AVOD teams in her new capacity.

The restructuring was announced in a memo to staff by Vernon Sanders, Amazon MGM Studios‘ head of television. The changes include several key team adjustments reporting to Anderson:

  • Christel Miller will lead the newly named ‘scripted hybrid’ team, focusing on titles that combine bespoke business models, hybrid formats, and custom-built opportunities. This team will emphasize financially efficient creative and production, including brand-funded scripted content.
  • Jenny Falkoff and Alysia Russo will maintain their roles as heads of reality series and docuseries, respectively.
  • Benoit Landry will head the new ‘branded & talk group,’ designed to develop brand-centered originals and serve as a resource for creators to integrate brands into their series.
  • Justin Holt will lead creative ad operations, concentrating on the innovative integration of ads into creative content.

Claudine Atout will continue to lead business operations for the brand and content innovation team. Traci Blackwell, who remains head of targeted content, will now report to Kara Smith, head of co-pro development for Amazon MGM Studios.
