Mediawan Kids & Family presented its current and upcoming projects at a press conference during the Annecy International Animation Film Market (MIFA) 2025, an edition marking the festival’s 40th anniversary. The company highlighted new digital-first initiatives, collaborations, and a range of animated content, including a new partnership with El Reino Infantil, a Spanish-speaking YouTube channel.

Among the latest news, A Magnificent Life (Marcel et Monsieur Pagnol), an animated film by Sylvain Chomet, is in Official Competition in the Feature Film category at Annecy, following its selection at Cannes Film Festival.
The company also is launching a new Digital First lineup, in partnership with digital content providers. The first two projects in this initiative are Claynosaurz, an animated adaptation of a digital property, and Wadoo, developed in collaboration with El Reino Infantil, the Spanish-speaking YouTube channel.
The company is also partnering with TF1 to develop Artefacts – Thieves of Thieves, a new comedy-adventure series directed by Stéphane Berry. Additionally, Mediawan Kids & Family announced that Nickelodeon has acquired Mister Crocodile, a new animated series based on the universe of Joann Sfar, produced by Joann Sfar’s Magical Society.
In addition is developing and producing feature films, including titles such as Twisted, Meow-Woof, Spike (Submarine), Dansker (Submarine), and Mission Santa: Yoyo to the Rescue (Toon2Tango).
Method Animation has five projects currently in production: Ki & Hi, an adaptation of a French manga for Canal+; Karters, an upper-preschool series for Warner Bros Discovery, co-produced with DeAPlaneta; Tuff Pom, a comedy series co-produced with Wildseed Studios for France Télévisions and BBC; Witch Detectives, co-produced with Toonz Media Group for TF1 and Super RTL; and Astro Boy Reboot, based on Osamu Tezuka‘s character, co-produced with Shibuya International for TF1 and ZDF. Method Animation is also developing Banana Sioule for anime enthusiasts.
Somewhere Animation is working on Artefacts, Thieves of Thieves for TF1, and will showcase two additional projects, Chococat & Me and Temtem, at the upcoming Cartoon Forum. Toon2Tango (LEONINE Studios), which recently joined Mediawan Kids & Family, is introducing three shows: Littlest Robot, Eldrador (co-produced with Schleich), and Letter Town Detective. Wildseed Studios is developing two new projects, Collideoscope and The Magic Roundabout. Submarine has fully delivered the series Pol the Pirate Mouse and is developing the comedy Max and Bird.
Mediawan Kids and Family Distribution manages a catalog of 5,000 episodes and 3,000 half-hours of programming, including content produced within the Group and third-party acquisitions. Notable acquisitions include two BBC series: Duck and Frog, a slapstick comedy, and Maddie + Triggs, a series about a visually impaired young girl and her dog.
Within the Mediawan group‘s Animation department, Miraculous Corp, a partnership between Mediawan and ZAG established over a year ago, presented its current and upcoming projects related to the Miraculous universe, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. These include:
- Miraculous, Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir: The sixth season is currently airing, with a seventh season in production.
- Miraculous Chibi: A 2D comedy featuring chibi-style characters. The 52 three-minute episodes will launch on the Miraculous YouTube channel in late 2025, followed by releases on Disney and TF1 in 2026.
- Miraculous Stellar Force: The first original spin-off series, acquired by Disney Branded Television, is set to launch in 2027. This 2D animated series blends kung fu comedy, action, and teen drama.
