Asian TV Forum & Market 2025 officially opened its market with a ceremony that combined celebration, recognition of the creative community and a strong emphasis on the future of Asian entertainment. The opening featured Tan Kiat How, Senior Minister of State at Singapore’s Ministry of Digital and Information Development, as guest of honor.
During the welcome address, the organization highlighted the event’s sustained growth and anticipated an edition that will bring together 5.000 professionals from 60 countries, with 20 pavilions and the presence of leading studios and platforms. The return of the popular terrace party, one of the social highlights of the event, was also announced.
In his speech, Tan Kiat How emphasized that ATF is a hub for ideas, talent and new partnerships. He highlighted the rise of formats such as micro-dramas and the growing impact of artificial intelligence on creative workflows. The minister noted that Singapore is promoting initiatives for professionals to adopt these tools safely and productively, while protecting intellectual property and promoting responsible use of AI.
Tan also announced a programme to support local talent, with an investment of $200 million over three years to strengthen the development, production and distribution of content with a global reach. He highlighted recent achievements in international co-productions and reaffirmed Singapore’s role as a reliable partner for regional and global projects.
The ceremony made it clear that ATF 2025 not only opens up a new market, but also a new era in which innovation, collaboration and stories with an international perspective will set the pace for the industry.
