The Spanish pavilion, organized by ICEX under the Audiovisual from Spain brand, returns to the physical events at MIPTV and offers a complete and varied programming lineup for clients and audiencies.
The top players inside the pavilion are Atresmedia Television, headed by José Antonio Salso, Head of Acquisitions and Sales, who is promoting the miniseries The Age of Anger (4x’50), the TV adaptation of the novel of the same name by Fernando J. López produced by The Mediapro Studio that premiered on ATRESplayer Premium on February 26.
The company is also pushing Thistle (S1 and S2: 6x’30), a new production from Veneno’s Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi: it’s a generational portrait that tells the story of Maria, a young woman who feels lost and with nothing to offer to the world.
Through Silvia Cotino, Sales and Business Development Deputy Director, Mediterraneo Mediaset España Group promotes its brand new drama The Hood (S1 and S2: 8x’70 each) with an approach to fundamental questions like the existing generation gap, the relationship between different cultural backgrounds or the importance of human values.
And the docu-series Wanted: El Sapo (4x’70) about Jon Imanol Sapieha, alias «SAPO», one of the best thieves in Europe and an expert in concealment that managed to pull out some of the hardest robberies in history.
On the kids side, DeAPLANETA Entertainment’s Judit Foz Povill and Lucia Vismara, Head of Media Sales, highlighted two animated series: Milo (52x’11) that explores the world of vocations introducing preschoolers to a variety of professions in a positive and entertaining way.
And Superdino (52x’11), an adventure series about friendship, teamwork, and the power of imagination. On Koong Koong Island, Joy and the Dino Heroes roar into dangerous dino rescue missions sure to catch the hearts of preschoolers around the globe.
Onza Distribution offers a strong drama and documentary slate, highlighting Motel Valkirias (8x’50), a thriller happening in a cross-border motel, where the lives of three women with great financial and personal problems, fortuitously intersect when they meet Elixio, a motel customer transporting valuable merchandise.
And Crimes (24x’50), a true crime docu-series narrating over 40 real crimes from the last 10 years. It tries to shed light on the darkness through the direct or indirect testimonies of the stories.
From Wild Stories Distribution stands two documentaries: Wild Family Ties (4x’52), a blue-chip series for the whole family. Four episodes full of adventures, some danger, and a lot of courage, which is necessary to survive and keep their wild families safe.
And Mediterranean Hunters (’52) about the fight between hunters and prey is the most dramatic event in nature. This is not a trivial game. For both, this fight means life or death. This close relationship is inevitable and they both need each other to exist and thrive.
Last but not least, Zona Mixta offering The Magic Circle of the Reef (4x’50) that shows the Southeast Asian reef, known as the «Coral Triangle», a rare example of the survival and regeneration of our oceans. And Anna Coleman Ladd: The Faces Painter (‘52) about the story of an extraordinary woman who devoted several years of her life and used her artistic talent to restore the dignity to dozens of men whose faces and lives had been shattered by World War I.
