BB Media, making use of big data tools, published an analysis of the plans of streaming services in relation to their content. The report makes a comparison between Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney +, HBO Max and Hulu in the US.
The consultancy started from the current scenario that the streaming market is experiencing, in which many platforms coexist, each with a unique proposal and a different title offer.
In the analysis, BB Media pointed out that Amazon Prime Video turned out to be the one with the cheapest price per 100 titles (USD 0.14). ‘This is interesting because it is also the streaming service that has the most titles in its library (10,598)’, the report reviewed. On the contrary, they also mentioned that the platforms with the most expensive price per 100 titles are Disney+ and HBO Max (USD 0.47), but the difference lies down to the amount of content, since HBO Max has more than Disney+.
In addition, they also offered an analysis of advertising-based plans, highlighting that HBO Max is the service with the highest price per 100 titles, while Hulu has the cheapest price. However, when considering the Disney+ ad package, which includes Hulu and ESPN+, they said that this plan has the lowest cost for 100 content.
Of the streaming services analyzed, BB Media believes that HBO Max and Amazon Prime Video offer some free titles in their libraries. HBO Max gives Latin American users some episodes to watch for free and without a paid subscription. On the other hand, Prime Video offers a selection of movies and series in the US and the UK, while in Japan it offers the first episode for free on Prime Video Channels. Another feature to highlight regarding this streaming platform is that it provides 103 additional channels in the US that can be added to your base plan’, remarked the report shared by the consultant.
