The Broadcast Program Export Association of Japan (BEAJ) is once again hosting the promotional event “DRAMA GEMS FROM JAPAN” at ATF market, in Singapore. The event is taking place on Wednesday, December 4, following its successful debut last year. This year, 10 companies—Nippon TV, TV Asahi, TBS Television, TV Tokyo, Fuji TV, Yomiuri Telecasting Corporation, ABC Frontier, Kansai TV, Chukyo TV, and Tokai TV—will showcase drama titles with the aim of licensing them to overseas markets.
Each year, ATF attracts over 4,500 participants from around 60 countries, creating a lively platform for entertainment content trading. Held on ATF’s opening day, this event is a prime opportunity to promote both completed dramas and scripted formats. The session features Michelle Lin of K7 Media as moderator. After screening trailers of the featured titles, the moderator introduces each work’s key selling points. Additionally, for two selected titles, production representatives and international sales personnel appears on stage to further delve into their unique appeal. Participating companies aim to leverage this event to drive negotiations and secure licensing agreements.
