Blue Ant Studios is presenting a slate of original commissions from its global wildlife and nature brand, Love Nature, at Sunny Side of the Doc. The studio is managing international licensing and pre-sales for several recently greenlit natural history series, showcasing the diverse range of content within Love Nature’s programming lineup. These new titles, created by natural history producers, exemplify the brand’s content strategy.

Alison Barrat, SVP, Head of Content, Love Nature, commented on the new greenlights, noting that they ‘reflect the wide spectrum of modern wildlife production that Love Nature has become known for over the last decade’. She also highlighted Love Nature’s ten-year anniversary and its global reach. Barrat stated, ‘Our line-up of premium-quality wildlife programming is created by some of the most celebrated and respected natural history producers from around the world’.
Blue Ant Studios and Love Nature are jointly present at Sunny Side of the Doc, co-sponsoring and moderating the Nature & Environment Pitch, and moderating the «New Routes to Wildlife Storytelling» panel. They are located at Stand B14.
The new titles include:
- Animal Crowds (3 x 60’): Produced by Bonne Pioche Télévision in co-production with ARTE GEIE, this series examines the phenomenon of animals gathering in large groups. It explores how animals form communities for reproduction, adaptation, feeding, and protection. The series also reflects on human social habits in relation to animal instinct, featuring footage of animal behavior.
- The Philippines (2 x 60’): Produced by Terra Mater, with Catkin Media Production and Doclights as production partners, this series explores the varied natural landscape of the Philippines. It highlights the geological formation of the islands, shaped by volcanic activity and deep trenches, and showcases the diverse wild animals and marine life inhabiting its rainforests, mountains, beaches, and reefs.
- Boss Shark: Battle of the Sexes (1 x 60’): Produced by WildBear Entertainment in co-production with Discovery, this documentary investigates whether male or female great white sharks are more dominant. Through a series of challenges, shark experts Dr. Riley Elliott and Kori Burkhardt evaluate the sharks, providing footage of the animals in action.
- Planet Weird Season 2 (6 x 60’): Produced by WildBear Entertainment, this second installment continues to explore unusual animals. The series uses humor and a visual style to present nature’s extremities, featuring celebrity comic narrator Ross Noble.
