Following the global digital footprint of Plim Plim, Spiritum Entertainment has officially introduced its newest animated project, Bumpy, the Bear, heading into MIPJunior and MIPCOM 2026. The new property is a co-production with Krakatoa, the Canary Islands-based studio founded in 2023 by industry veterans Víctor M. López and Luís Armengol, who bring a background in building internationally recognized children’s IPs such as Pocoyó, Jelly Jamm, and Cleo & Cuquín.

The series recently premiered on YouTube and music streaming platforms, accompanied by a strategic broadcast deal with Spanish public broadcaster RTVE. Under this agreement, the network will air Bumpy, the Bear on its linear children’s channel Clan in Spain and across its international feeds, marking the public broadcaster’s inaugural venture into acquiring a digital-first property.
Built around universal values regarding the right to play and education—anchored in the UN Declaration of the Rights of the Child—the show centers on a seven-year-old purple bear who explores learning and daily challenges through music alongside his family, teacher Mrs. Joy, and a diverse group of friends. The slate consists of 52 musical video clips and 52 digital shorts, blending original compositions, royalty-free tracks, and adaptations of established Plim Plim songs, all produced in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. The musical strategy was overseen by Mauricio Zubiri, VP of Musical Content at Spiritum Entertainment, who directed the integration of song styles and narrative rhythm.
The venture aims to replicate the digital growth model developed by Spiritum Entertainment, whose Plim Plim channel ecosystem has amassed 48.4 million subscribers and 21.8 billion YouTube views over the past 12 months, standing as one of the platform’s top-performing kids channels globally. By pairing this digital channel optimization with Krakatoa’s experience in global brand building, the partners seek to scale the property across broadcast, digital platforms, and consumer categories.
‘After many years growing alongside Plim Plim, we are thrilled to welcome Bumpy to the Spiritum family’, stated Guillermo ‘Tita’ Pino, President of Spiritum Entertainment. ‘It is a new story with its own identity, but it shares our core belief that entertainment can support children as they learn, play, and discover the world’.
Adding to the commercial roadmap in Cannes, Víctor M. López, Co-founder of Krakatoa, noted: ‘Bumpy was created with an international ambition and a multi-platform distribution strategy across territories and categories. MIPCOM offers the ideal setting to present this universe and engage with platforms, broadcasters, and partners interested in driving its global reach’.
