Turkish company arrives at MIPTV this year with the mission of ‘spreading joy to global audiences, to make them enjoy the drama’, according to Asli Serim, Head of International Sales.
The company is presenting Farah & Twisted Lives the two new dramas produced by O3 Medyaand and the Canadian production Indefensible in MIPTV 2023.
Premiered on the International Women’s Day, Farah is the story of an Iranian woman, who had to run away from her country and is struggling to live in Istanbul, working as a cleaning lady in order to maintain the treatment of her son, but finds herself unintentionally in the middle of a mafia-police war.
Starring Engin Akyurek and Demet Ozdemir, the drama has captured the Wednesday nights’ audience in a very short period of time and became one of the top leading dramas in the rankings. Firat Tanis, Senan Kara, Lale Basar, Oktay Cubuk, Mustafa Avkiran and Ali Surmeli are the names accompanying to Demet Ozdemir (Farah) and Engin Akyurek (Tahir) in Farah, the Turkish remake of the award-winning Argentinean scripted series La Chica Que Limpia. Expected to be another global phenomenal drama in Calinos’ catalog, the series is on air every Wednesday on primetime, on FOX in Turkey.
Calinos Entertainment’s second new drama Twisted Lives will meet with international buyers in Cannes right after its premiere. Starring globally acclaimed actors Timucin Esen(Korkmaz) and Sevket Coruh (İskender); Twisted Lives is the story of two best friends, who will become the worst enemies of each other for the love of their children. While Iskender faces the worst reality of his life, Korkmaz will learn to be a father once again and will be torn between the love of his life and her son. It is shot in Bodrum; one of the most beautiful coastal towns of Turkey with a great cast. The series is currently on air every Tuesday on primetime on FOX in Turkey.
