Las Villamizar is the epic drama that breaks all the rules, giving life to a historical period from the female point of view. A suspenseful thriller in which 3 sisters born in the highest class are on a mission to avenge their mother, murdered by the Spanish army during the independence era.
Las Villamizar will have to fulfill missions that will bring them closer to their goal, putting their heart, their identity and their life at stake. As the story progresses, its main characters are torn between revenge and justice. Lisette Osorio, VP of International Sales at Caracol Television, highlighted: ‘The series will surprise our clients with a story that combines passion, forbidden loves, love triangles, adventures and espionage, from a female perspective, very rarely taken to the screen. Its main characters are liberal and independent women, with a very progressive attitude for their time. A different look at a decisive period for the development of our societies’.
It was filmed on different locations in Santander, Villa de Leyva and the outskirts of Bogota, Colombia. It will capture audiences with an original musical proposal; costume designs and art are inspired by the aristocratic classes of the 19th century, combining fashion statements that draw the duality of the characters: ladies and warriors at the same time.
Written and directed by Mateo Stivelberg, who shares credits in directing with Herney Luna and in the scripts with Juan Carlos Aparicio. Starring Shany Nadan, Majo Vargas and Estefania Piñeres.
