Centauro, a full service localization studio

Since 2020, Centauro has seen a very active demand for dubbing Asian content into English, Spanish, and Portuguese. The company has increased its pool of Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and Filipino translators and adapters to ensure that the product’s quality is impeccable.

Rafael Nieto Silva, head of AV Production, talked to Prensario, and he commented on the current moment of the company in the international content market. The company attends ATF 2022, where it is showing its recent works.

Centauro Group is a full service localization studio that can meet high demand while delivering a premium product, always balancing human resources with the advances in technology that the industry is seeking today.

Some of the high-profile projects that the company has been working on in the past 12 months are: Hansan Rising Dragon, The Monkey King Reborn, Gintama, Alchemy of the Souls Part 1 and 2, A Love So Beautiful, Escape from Mogadishu, Baby Shark, Young IP Man, Kimi no me ga toikaketeiru, Kamen Raida Burakku, Lupine III: The First, Legend of the Demon Cat, IP Man 4, Vincenzo, amongst others.

«One of our main areas of focus has been creating original English voices for series and animated films. We work with producers from France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Argentina, Chile, Luxembourg, Canada, Croatia, and Russia, including films that have premiered at the Marché du Film in Cannes’,» expressed Nieto Silva.

For kids and teen genres, Centauro works with an excellent pool of musical directors and singers of all ages, ranging from adults to children, allowing them to produce songs with exceptional creative talent. In 2022 alone, they will have created more than 100 songs and more than 200 episodes with original voices in English.

‘We are very proud to have the Netflix Np3 badge and have dubbed more than 20 high performing Korean series combined with several anime series. We’ve also participated in the Asian workshops that Netflix organizes, which has given us profound knowledge of the culture we are working with, so we can excel in adapting, casting, and directing the projects. Furthermore, we have made a concerted effort to implement an inclusion strategy across our studios, ensuring that we have a diverse representation of talent across all aspects of production,» he added.

Centauro Group´s business performance in the last two years has sustained growth, and it has added 300 new talents and team members; built 16 additional studios, and expanded its studio space in all three locations, Colombia, Brazil, and the United States. ‘We’ve tripled the hours we dub each month from 200 to 650 hours, and we are happy to offer our clients additional services such as sound post-production and design, including Dolby Atmos Mix’, remarked.

The company are co-producing several features and expanding its range of services while strengthening client relationships and maintaining their position in the Netflix Postpartner Program for localized content in Spanish.
