CJ ENM has announced that its global K-POP platform, Mnet Plus, has exceeded 40 million app users and achieved a peak of over 20 million monthly active users within three years of its launch. The mobile-based service integrates exclusive programming with interactive features, allowing fans to watch original shows, stream live events, and participate in voting and missions.

The platform’s rapid growth is attributed to its unique ‘Fanteractive’ (Fan + Interactive) model. Unlike traditional streaming services, Mnet Plus empowers fans to influence content outcomes. For instance, the live finale of the survival show Boys Planet saw 3.5 million votes in a single day, peaking at over 70,000 votes per second. Similarly, the 2024 MAMA Awards recorded more than 70 million votes through the app.
Kim Jiwon, Senior Vice President of Mnet Plus at CJ ENM, stated, ‘Mnet Plus is more than a streaming service. It’s a place where global fans have the initiative to shape their own K-POP content experience’. He added that the goal is to redefine how global audiences absorb K-POP by connecting content, fandom, and business.
Global reach and future plans
Since its 2022 launch, Mnet Plus has gained significant traction among Gen Z and Gen Alpha, with approximately 80% of its traffic originating from international markets such as the US, China, Japan, and Indonesia. The platform hosts exclusive content featuring major K-pop acts like Tomorrow X Together, NCT 127, and Zerobaseone.Looking ahead to next year, CJ ENM plans to quadruple its original and exclusive programming and enhance its global live-streaming capabilities. The company will also introduce an ad-supported free viewing model to broaden accessibility while expanding premium content options.
