CJ ENM has announced the UK adaptation of its hit survival reality show The Genius Game, set to debut in 2025 on ITV. Produced by Remarkable Entertainment and distributed by Banijay Entertainment, the new version will be unveiled at CJ ENM’s exclusive London Screenings 2025 event, Banijay @ BAFTA 195 Piccadilly.
Originally launched in 2013 on CJ ENM’s K-content channel tvN, The Genius Game ran for four seasons and built a dedicated global following. The format has since been adapted in the Netherlands by NPO in 2022 and is now represented by Banijay across eleven international markets, including the UK, Germany, Mexico, and Brazil.
Generating early buzz, the UK version has been named one of Variety’s “Hot Picks” for London TV Screenings 2025, and David Tennant is set to take on the role of The Creator. A preview promo of the UK adaptation will be showcased during the London TV Screenings this week.
The series challenges contestants to prove their intelligence, strategic thinking, and persuasion skills in high-stakes competition. Participants, selected for their social IQ, charisma, and analytical abilities, compete in the Main Match and Death Match, where they must form alliances, navigate betrayals, and outmaneuver their opponents to become the Genius.
