Claudia Sahab from TelevisaUnivision at Natpe Budapest: ‘We have a presence in a large part of the CEE’
To reinforce business in the CEE market, Televisa participates in the 2022 edition of Natpe Budapest, where its strong content library and its most recent productions stand out.
In an interview with Prensario, Claudia Sahab, Europe director at TelevisaUnivision, highlighted the good times the company is experiencing in this market, and its alliances with local television stations.
Among its novelties, the company renewed an alliance for two more years with ProTV in Romania, for which they will provide finished content such as dramas and comedies. «Fortunately, our product is very popular in Romania and in other countries in this region, where we sell absolutely all of our content. Here they consume practically everything that comes out of the Factory of Dreams, with an annual balance of more than 1000 hours of content per year
Sahab also noted that Hungary is another of its key markets, where its drama content is in high demand, even with competition from Turkish content. ‘In Hungary, we have a presence in practically all television groups except the national one, since public television normally buys European products’, she said.
The executive also highlighted that they always participate in markets in the CEE with their library of classics, where she assures that they are highly demanded. ‘The bookstore is a strategy that we have found in Europe. There is great acceptance for our oldies titles, as they are contents that usually reach traditional families in this part of Europe,’ added Sahab.
In addition to Romania and Hungary, the executive also highlighted Bulgaria, where she remarked that they also resumed interest in Latin series and novels. ‘I could tell you that right now of all the countries of Eastern and Central Europe we are in all except the former Yugoslavia, with whom we are in advanced talks to sell content there.’
