Founded more than 30 years ago, Comarex continues to adapt and evolve in the industry, bringing new technologies and advances in entertainment content. During Mipcom 2023, the company presents its catalog, with a wide selection of genres, including telenovelas and series.
One of its main titles is Mabel’s Secret (80×45′). This telenovela tells the story of a woman who is expelled from her home after a «regrettable mistake» that ended in scandal, and is about to lose her children’s tuition. In an attempt to make a better living, she will start a daring business: a clandestine motel where she will meet the love of her life, a charming doctor. What Mabel doesn’t know is that this man is actually a swindler hired to cheat her.
Comarex also presents Catalan Kind of Love (94×45′). This telenovela follows Rafael Catalán who is getting married to his girlfriend. She is pregnant and he has given his word, but his true love is Dafne, an employee of his family’s bakery. The marriage does not take place, because Rafael’s father collapses on the bride’s cake. The party turns into a funeral and the last will of the patriarch unleashes the storm: the reality is that he has another family; another wife and two daughters (Daphne and Danae) who own 50% of the Catalan bakeries. From now on, everything seems to fall apart, Rafael is in love with his sister and their families hate each other.
Another of its main titles is Plagio (7×45′). This series follows Victor Carpio, a neurosurgeon who realizes that his only daughter suffers from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. By chance, he meets billionaire Sergio Munguía, who offers him all the «financial support» to continue his brain transplant research, convincing him that it is the only way to save his daughter. Dr. Carpio, together with a group of doctors, will be involved in a series of clandestine experiments to carry out the first brain transplant at a very high price.
Finally, Comarex highlights Guardia García (10×51′), a series that portrays the irremediable and complicated alliance between two forensic experts, Alfonso Guardia and Jonás García. The former is recognized for his vast experience and intuition in solving cases: he has captured the most brutal serial killers; however, the cost has been the estrangement of his daughter and wife, which disturbs him.
