Content Warsaw: the bet to redefine the CEE market

WBD Poland, the Eastern European unit will participate in the event, as the company officially launches MAX in this market from June 2024.

After Content Budapest, C21Media is holding Content Warsaw. From June 3-6, 2024, the  event aims to connect the Central and Eastern European content community to facilitate pan-regional and international business in a conference and development marketplace in the Polish capital. Key players from more than 38 countries are participating.

Content Warsaw takes place at Kinogram, the state-of-the-art cinema and event complex with exhibition space and meeting rooms, which is located in the center of Warsaw. The event also features all the elements common to C21 events, including an AI Academy block, the Content Warsaw Copro Pitch competition, and a marketplace with meeting tables and booths.

The event’s agenda includes screenings, a conference program and a marketplace designed to bring together buyers, co-producers, commissioners, channels and platforms in the heart of the Central and Eastern European region.

Among the confirmed showcases, Viaplay Content Distribution presents a wide range of scripted and unscripted programs based on real stories from the region. Disney Entertainment gives buyers throughout the region a look at the company’s latest slate of U.S. content. Sony Pictures Television presents fantastic programming with a variety of titles that will resonate with audiences around the world. Globo will present a showcase of key product for the region, including new releases and great telenovela classics. United Media will also host the screenings.

As part of the conference program, Maciej Gozdowski of Warner Bros. Discovery Poland will present and discuss the launch of Max in Poland and describe its broadcast strategy. Wiktor Przeorski and Łukasz Poniński, also from Warner Bros. Discovery Poland, will discuss how XR technology is shaping the future of content production. In addition, Kai Finke of SkyShowtime, will describe his content strategy in the region.

Other sessions on the conference agenda include a CEE Content Trends Report, a focus on pan-regional commissioning, new models for international distribution and partnerships, the current boom in scripted production, new co-production alliances and a deep dive into how AI can be used to improve the content business across the region.
