France: Millimages names Adrien Moretto as its first general director

French’s Millimages has promoted general secretary Adrien Moretto to general director, a newly created position in its executive structure.

According to a publication on Kidscreen website, in this key leadership role, the exec will develop strategies for franchise growth by mapping out new content and securing more licensees. His team in Paris will focus on expanding IPs into multi-platform brands.

Millimages it’s well-known for its popular kids toons like 64 Rue Du Zoo and Corneil & Bernie, but its biggest hit in recent years is Molang. This animated preschool series about a friendly bunny airs in 190-plus countries and has spawned 950 consumer products to date from more than 80 licensees. It also serves as a blueprint for the company’s transmedia plans.

With Molang, the company expanded past June with a YouTube-first series called Molang & Piu Piu YouTubers, in which the characters engage in typical influencer activities such as playing video games, filming morning routines and reacting to funny/scary clips. It has really taken off on the AVOD platform, where episodes collectively generated four million views two weeks post-launch.

On the article, Moretto expressed that is looking to replicate this success with Millimages’ other brands. And he’s equipped to do it since he’s now leading all departments at the company, including production, sales, licensing and digital.
