‘More than 83.2 million children and adolescents who have access to the internet, with ages ranging from 3 to 18 years of age. Video games are more and more present in the daily lives of kids and teens. And this is due to the fact that it is a multi-target and multi-device entertainment, which is why it accompanies their growth and can be done alone or in company, physical or virtual’, initiated Stochyk.

The executive also highlighted that on average, kids and teens play an average of 1 hour 30 minutes per day. It is even an activity that is above watching movies, or consuming social networks.

Ortega, who head the LatAm office of one of the top videogames developers worldwide, offered the perspectives of the industry: ‘The segment is currently one of the most dynamic and diverse: gaming is no longer just entertainment that enthusiasts frequent. Now amateurs, or outsiders, participate and even it is far from being an activity exclusively for men’.

On the other hand, he also referred to the world of eSports, and assured that it is a segment that will lead to large sums of money in the coming years: ‘We will see how media companies will dispute the broadcasting rights of an international tournament, and this, because for advertisers, gaming is a very important segment’, concluded Ortega.
