To promote its seasonal slate in the European market, Globo participates in Series Mania 2023, where it spoke with the press about its plans on the international scene.
‘This is the first time we’re here first I’m coming to Series Mania which means a lot to us because we want to focus on having strategic content partnerships with European players. We are very strong in Latin America as a whole, we have important distribution deals in Africa in the Middle East and in Portugal but, in some countries in Europe, we still don’t have the presence that we want to’, said Angela Colla, Head of International Sales at Globo
The executive commented that they have identified the great potential of their stories in the French market and that is why they decided to attend this year’s event: ‘We really believe that our titles can travel and find new markets and we need to give it a shot. We were in Berlinale last month, and we are planning to add more new events to our annual agenda,’ she stressed.
‘We also started looking for a strategic partnership, especially to find content that can go well in Brazil, but that can also fit well in different markets. The challenge of a co-production is to find the right project that has the local touch and at the same time, the travel ability to be in different markets and to be relevant to different audiences’, concluded.
