Globo (Brasil) is set to make a significant impact at three major audiovisual industry events in Eastern and Central Europe this month. The company will showcase its latest productions, timeless classics, and innovative formats at Content Warsaw (June 3-6), NEM Dubrovnik (June 10-13), and NATPE Budapest (June 24-27).
On June 6 at 9:25 am, Guilherme Jordão, Content Distribution & Partnerships at Globo, will present a special showcase at Content Warsaw. This presentation will feature Globo‘s top offerings for the region, including new releases and beloved telenovela classics. This event underscores Globo‘s strategic focus on the Central and Eastern European (CEE) markets, highlighting the company’s commitment to understanding and catering to the unique preferences of each microregion.
At NATPE Budapest, Rodrigo Nascimento, Head of International Business, will take part in the panel «Driving Efficiency through Partnerships» on June 26 at 3:00 pm. The executive will discuss content collaborations and co-productions, sharing insights on how partnerships can enhance operational efficiency in the media industry.
‘Eastern and Central Europe are strategic territories for Globo’, says Guilherme Jordão. ‘Our presence at these three events reflects our understanding of each microregion’s unique characteristics. We have a long history in this market. For instance, Croatian broadcaster HRT airs at least one of our telenovelas each year, and BTV Bulgaria recently acquired content like Just Trust and Pantanal. In neighboring Armenia, Public TV Company of Armenia recently premiered Pantanal and has successfully broadcast titles such as Sweet Diva and All the Flowers. Our extensive catalog of telenovelas, series, and documentaries demonstrates our production capabilities and how our diverse products can meet different needs in a rapidly transforming market.»
Among Globo‘s offerings are the telenovela Renascer and the series Justice: Bad Behaviour, both recently launched at the LA Screenings. Currently airing in Brazil, Renascer is based on Benedito Ruy Barbosa’s 1993 work, adapted by his grandson Bruno Luperi, with artistic direction by Gustavo Fernández, the same team behind Pantanal, which has been sold to 130 territories.
Justice: Bad Behaviour, created by Manuela Dias and also directed by Gustavo Fernández, follows four characters who reunite seven years after being imprisoned, each seeking a form of justice beyond the legal system. The series adopts the same format as Justice: Life Isn’t Fair, which premiered in 2016 and earned Emmy nominations for Best Actress (Adriana Esteves) and Best Drama Series.
At all three events, Globo will also promote the relaunch of past hits through the «Classics & Big Hits» project. This includes Emmy-winning Brazilian telenovelas such as India: A Love Story and Precious Pearl, along with other iconic titles like Family Ties, The Clone, Terra Nostra, and Avenida Brasil, Globo’s best-selling production. Additional featured telenovelas include Land of Desire, Crossroads, and Perfect Love, as well as Globoplay Originals series such as The End, Under Pressure, and Unsoul.
Furthermore, Globo will present unscripted formats like PopStar and Family Size, and scripted formats including Justice: Life Isn’t Fair, Total Dreamer, and Hidden Truths. These diverse offerings underscore Globo’s commitment to providing high-quality content that resonates with global audiences, maintaining its strong presence in the international market.
