Globo takes to Natpe Budapest 2022 with its main launches «Pantanal», «A Life to Die For» and «A Trick of Fate», the Globoplay Original Series «Under Pressure 5», «Unsoul 2», «Aruanas 2», and the successful franchise «Hidden Truths».

The Eastern European market is strategic for Globo, with a history of more than 250 sales to the territory. Globo is present in the Polish and Hungarian markets with more than 50 sales.
The main contender to engage European audiences, «Pantanal», is currently the viewership leader on Brazilian television, reaching 35.8 million people per day and all types of audiences, with a 30% audience growth compared to the previous telenovela from the same time slot. The plot, a classic family saga, which had already been a huge success in the country 30 years ago, written by author Benedito Ruy Barbosa, has been updated into a new version written by his grandson, Bruno Luperi, and continues to captivate the public.
Under Pressure premiered its 5th season in Brazil exclusively on Globoplay, Globo’s streaming platform, on June 2nd and reached the second ranking position among the most consumed series on the platform between June 2nd and June 20. Written by Lucas Paraizo and directed by Andrucha Waddington, the new plot is presented after the success of the previous episodes, which had already conquered audiences in more than 60 countries, such as Italy, the Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, and Ecuador, among others.
Throughout its five seasons, “Under Pressure” has become a show recognized in many places around the world. Praised by the public and critics alike, its narrative gained international notoriety in its very first season, being presented at festivals such as Berlinale (Berlin) and TIFF (Toronto). Since then, “Under Pressure” has gained a lot of recognition, winning four awards at the 31st Festival International de Programmes Audivisuels (2018), in Biarritz, France: best series; best actress and actor (for Marjorie Estiano and Julio Andrade, respectively) and best screenplay. In Argentina, the series premiered on Telefe in January 2019 and has established itself among the most watched shows on FreeTV. “Under Pressure” was also shown in Portugal, on the Globo channel, and is today one of the company’s best-selling series to the international market.
Natpe Budapest also marks the international launch of the second season of Unsoul, Globoplay’s original supernatural thriller.
A Life to Die For and A Trick of Fate aired between 2021 and 2022 on TV Globo. The second season of Aruanas was released on Globoplay in 2021, and Unsoul’s in 2022.
Pantanal
One of the telenovelas most present in the Brazilian imagination, Pantanal is a family saga about the Leôncio and the Marruá, set in one of the richest ecosystems in the world. After the mysterious disappearance of his father, Joventino, cowboy José Leôncio becomes a wealthy landowner, including a ranch in the Pantanal. More than twenty years have gone by and, embittered by his father’s disappearance and his wife’s flight to Rio de Janeiro with their son, Jove, José Leôncio has the chance to reconcile with the boy, now a young man raised in the big city, with values and habits very different from his own. The cast includes renowned names such as Marcos Palmeira, Juliana Paes, Murilo Benício, Dira Paes, Alanis Guillen, Jesuíta Barbosa, Bruna Linzmeyer, Renato Góes, and others.
Under Pressure 5
The urgency of patient care and the recurrent ills of the public health system have always made emergency rooms a chaotic environment, but the reality has been tougher in recent years, and the energy and willingness of health professionals to face the great pressure of the daily battle to save lives is no longer the same, despite everyone’s dedication. In the fifth season of Under Pressure, the medical team begins to manifest the after-effects of their profession and the marks of their suffering, so often veiled.
A Life to Die For
A declining soccer player, an ambitious businesswoman, a snobbish doctor, and a rebellious pole dancer die by mistake and are sent back to life, with the warning that in one year one of them will die. They then begin a race against the clock to fix what is wrong in their lives and try to change their fate.
A Trick of Fate
After spending ten years wrongfully imprisoned for the death of his girlfriend Elisa, the illusionist Davi returns to the family farm of his beloved under another identity and discovers that her younger sister, Isadora, has become exactly like Elisa. The two fall madly in love, but will have to fight against the evil Joaquin and other outside forces that threaten this great passion.
Aruanas 2
Now without Verônica, the activists Luiza and Natalie are fighting to prevent the issuing of an Executive Order that will exempt the largest oil companies in Brazil from paying taxes. To do so, they try to stop Olga’s lobbying in Brasília, while investigating the hidden secrets behind the apparently exemplary aura of sustainability of Arapós, the largest petrochemical complex in Brazil.

Unsoul 2
