Globo: new stories and a major co-production

Globo arrives at the first edition of MIP London with momentum, following the announcement of its latest international collaboration. The Brazilian media giant has teamed up with French production powerhouse Gaumont to co-produce a new series set in the world of haute couture. The project, which also involves Brazilian producers Conspiração and Ventre Studios, was unveiled during Content Americas and marks Globo’s first partnership with Gaumont, the French studio behind Narcos and Lupin.

The collaboration coincides with the Year of Brazil in France and the Year of France in Brazil in 2025, celebrating the strong cultural ties between the two nations. ‘We are celebrating Globo’s 100th anniversary and Gaumont turns 130 in 2025, which highlights the strength and tradition of both companies on the international sphere’, expressed during the announcement few weeks ago Manuel Belmar, head of Digital Products and CFO.

Nicolas Atlan, President of Gaumont USA, emphasized the significance of the partnership: ‘A Globo and Gaumont collaboration is a perfect fit of legacy and quality, and we couldn’t be more excited and proud to be working with this historic giant of content production. Together with Conspiração and Ventre Studios, we endeavor to captivate audiences with a thrilling, ripped-from-the-headlines story about one of Brazil’s most iconic high-fashion power players’.

In addition to this major co-production, Globo brings a diverse catalog to MIP London, featuring new telenovelas and unscripted formats. Among them is She’s The One, a period drama set in the 1950s about a young woman searching for her lost mother, only to discover another girl has taken her place. Crazy About You delivers a gripping mix of friendship, rivalry, and romance, following two women whose lives become intertwined in an unexpected way.

Company also presents fresh entertainment formats, including What A Wonderful Cuisine Class, a celebrity cooking competition for contestants who have no idea how to cook, and Making the Party, a DIY-themed show where creativity transforms children’s parties.
