GMA Network President & Chief Executive Officer Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr. was honored with the prestigious Management Excellence Award by BizNews Asia, during the publication’s 24th anniversary celebration held on 25 November in Makati.
The award highlights his outstanding leadership and strategic vision, which have been key to the consolidation and expansion of the media group. Duavit has driven innovation strategies that strengthened GMA Network’s performance and expanded its presence in television, radio and digital platforms.
His career with the company began in 1999 as a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. A year later, he assumed the chairmanship of the Executive Committee, and in 2000 he was appointed EVP and COO. In 2010, he became president and chief operating officer, and since January 2024, he has been CEO of the group.
In addition to leading GMA Network, Duavit holds key positions in multiple units of the conglomerate, including president and/or director of GMA Network Films, GMA Holdings, GMA Productions, GMA New Media, Group Management and Development, and Dual Management and Investments.
He is also vice president of GMA Ventures. Committed to social work, he chairs the GMA Kapuso Foundation and is actively involved as a trustee and advisor in other organizations. Duavit holds a degree in Philosophy from the University of the Philippines.
