Content distributor Grey Juice Lab recently announced a major addition to its upcoming slate, taking on the international distribution for the highly anticipated documentary Diego Intimo. The feature-length film promises to deliver a deeply personal and previously unseen portrait of football legend Diego Armando Maradona. By adding this title to its catalog, the company aims to bring one of the most compelling human stories behind the global icon to international buyers and audiences.

The project is being spearheaded by production companies 3C Films and VIA X Films. Unlike previous biographical works that focused heavily on Maradona’s publicized career, Diego Intimo is built upon a foundation of exclusive, unreleased archival footage. This rare material was captured by his personal photographer and close friend, Jorge Luengo, who witnessed many of the footballer’s most private and vulnerable moments. The film utilizes this unique archive as its core narrative axis, shifting the focus away from the pitch to explore the man behind the enduring myth.
Currently in the production phase under the leadership of Executive Producer Juan Crespo, the documentary is being crafted as a premium 90-minute feature in Spanish, formatted in 4K resolution with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The film is slated for a worldwide premiere in the second half of 2026, marking a strong strategic step for Grey Juice Lab as it continues to position globally resonant documentary content in the international market.
