Hasbro revitalizes Power Rangers content for new generations

Hasbro is strategically re-engaging audiences with its iconic Power Rangers franchise by rolling out a 4K remastered version of the beloved 1990s live-action series, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Re-Ignition, on YouTube. This initiative aims to bridge the generational gap and introduce the original heroes to a fresh wave of young fans.

The first enhanced episode launched today across the Power Rangers‘ official English, French, German, and Spanish YouTube channels. Hasbro plans to release two to three episodes weekly, with the full «Re-Ignition» series (60 x 22 minutes) expected to be available by October 7. This digital distribution strategy follows a similar push last week, when Hasbro also began releasing a collection of bite-sized shorts, drawn from the same 90s series, which are scheduled for gradual rollout until December 9. These short-form contents are designed to offer quick, engaging introductions to the franchise.

Beyond digital content, Hasbro is also bolstering the brand’s presence in the toy market. In February, the company granted a license to Playmates Toys to develop a new line of Power Rangers figures, accessories, role-play toys, and collectibles. These products are slated to hit shelves this fall, building on a global licensing agreement initially announced in April 2024. This multi-faceted approach, combining high-quality digital content with new merchandise, reflects Hasbro’s commitment to revitalizing and expanding the Power Rangers brand for contemporary audiences.
