Former NBCUniversal and Netflix exec Tehmina Jaffer is joining again Disney as EVP of business affairs for Disney Branded Television.
Jaffer, who previously worked at Disney+ as SVP of business affairs from 2019 to 2021, will now oversee all aspects of business affairs, negotiations and contract administration for Disney Television Animation and Disney Branded TV content created for Disney+, Disney Channel and Disney Junior.
Based in LA, the exec reports to Disney Branded TV president Ayo Davis and replaces to Adina Savin, who is leaving after 23 years.
Jaffer’s last stint at Disney saw her specialize in scripted and unscripted content for Marvel, Pixar, National Geographic and Lucasfilm. She also previously served as a director at Netflix, overseeing business strategy and deals for its licensed and original series.
According to the company, the Branded TV area has been stocking up on new projects this year, including a Goosebumps series from Sony Pictures Television Studios and the live-action movie Prom Pact for Disney+. It also restructured its unscripted and non-fiction teams in April, putting Claire McCabe in charge of its new brand partnerships and kids unit as VP, and appointing former Universal exec Bardo Ramirez to serve as VP of studio strategy and operations at Disney Branded Television.
