“Industry Testimonials” at VSWW’ VS Next continues to bring interesting tips and business twists from around the world. This is the case of Spanish Atresmedia Television, where local & Turkish drama is booming, and UK’s ITV, a leading-case company about IP developments and format export.
Jose Antonio Salso, head of acquisitions & international sales at Atresmedia Television, has brought to the “Industry Testimonials” the good moment of Turkish drama in the Spanish market. The executive has been in charge of acquiring some of the most successful titles of the last years: MADD’s A Woman Scorned (Medyapim’s adaptation of British Doctor Foster) and My Little Girl, as well as Inocente that are the three most popular titles of the network: ‘These titles have generated high audience levels in the prime-time slot’, he remarked.
On the format side, a referent of the industry is FRAPA board member Mike Beale, managing director at ITV Studios (UK), who underlined: ‘Innovation and IP with an international profile are the two characteristics that today we use to develop content or even to acquire. Among the trends, we believe that entertainment shows have driven audiences throughout this year, in response to traditional TV consumption skyrocketing’.
