Being its first participation at Series Mania, Inter Medya highlighted the potential of the market as part of its annual international agenda.
‘This is our first time here in this market, I called it a market because before it was more kind of a festival, and now with this three-day forum, it begins to feel like a market in my opinion, very different from the others’, said Can Okan, president and CEO of Inter Medya, one of the leaders distributors and producers of Turkish content.
The executive assured that in the other markets, they generally sell ready-to-use content, but highlighted Series Mania for having co-production meetings: ‘It was very prolific for us and we made correct sales on the production side, which helped us. I like it because recently we have built, as you know, a development unit where we have already produced 3 series in Turkey’.
Okan mentioned the alliance with Telemundo, and announced that they are already producing a new title with the US-based company. ‘Filming will end at the end of April and the final delivery will be in September’.
‘Here in this market we had a lot of meetings with some possible production partners, and we have a lot of meetings and we will be back next year because, as I said before, we are not just a distribution company anymore’, the executive concluded.
