Invest in Spain at ATF 2022: ICEX celebrates 40 years

ICEX Spain Export and Investment promotes foreign direct investment in Spain and supports business people and entrepreneurs seeking to establish their business there, as well as those who have already done so.

This year, ICEX celebrates 40 years at the service of internationalization in Spain. Within ICEX, its Executive Directorate Invest in Spain promotes foreign direct investment in Spain and supports businesspeople and entrepreneurs seeking to establish their business there, as well as those who have already done so. Invest in Spain offers information, advice and support services to investors interested in the Spanish market. It acts as a meeting point for central and regional government and foreign investors and also with potential local partners. It also has an international network of more than 100 economic and commercial offices around the world.

The audiovisual sector is one of the priority sectors that Invest in Spain works with, which has been boosted since 2021, when the Spanish government launched the programme ‘Spain, Audiovisual Hub of Europe’, which will mobilize an estimated 1.6 billion euros in public resources over the period 2021-2025, and its goal is to increase audiovisual production in Spain by 30% by the end of the period.

Invest in Spain has its own bureau, which works like a one-stop shop to solve all those questions that may arise for investing and shooting in Spain by foreign production companies, but also to help Spanish companies and productions to develop their projects outside our borders. This tool is an extraordinary effort to coordinate all the Spanish public and private entities related to the internationalization of this industry.

This coordination facilitates companies’ access to information, while also reinforcing the support offered to them in the decision-making process. As a result, the degree of internationalization of the sector will intensify and become more competitive.
