JALI research showcases advanced facial animation software at MIFA

JALI Research, the Toronto-based developer of high-end lip sync and facial animation software, is returning as an exhibitor to the Annecy International Animation Film Market (MIFA), taking place from June 10–13. The company is highlighting its intelligent automation solutions designed to streamline character animation workflows and enhance emotional performances.

As part of the official MIFA program, JALI Co-Founder and Oscar-winning animator Chris Landreth will lead an exclusive, live, and interactive demonstration titled “Animating Emotion: JALI’s Tools for Immersive Storytelling.” Scheduled for Thursday, June 12, from 5–6 p.m. in the Rotonde Room, the presentation targets industry professionals, students, and animation enthusiasts. Landreth will explore how JALI’s technology, including its proprietary Heart & Mask system, allows animators to blend internal emotion with outward expression for nuanced character performances, reducing repetitive tasks and enabling faster iteration.

JALI’s software suite offers natively deployed plugins for Autodesk Maya and Unreal Engine. It aims to help production teams achieve high-quality results and believable digital characters efficiently for animated films, AAA games, cinematics, and immersive media.

Sarah Watling, JALI Research Co-Founder and CEO, commented, ‘We’re excited to return this year and showcase how JALI’s solutions are empowering animation studios and animators with powerful, high-end, scalable pipeline tools that support both large-scale production and craft-centric animation houses to deliver best-in-class animated stories’.

Attendees at Annecy are also invited to visit JALI at Stand A17 throughout MIFA to explore the latest features in its facial animation and lip-sync software. The exhibit is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Tuesday, June 10, to Thursday, June 12, and from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, June 13.
