Kanal D International, the commercial arm of Kanal D, presents its season international slate at MIPTV 2023. Highlights That Girl and Love & Hate.
The first of the titles that Kanal D is presenting is That Girl, which tells the story of Zeynep, a young woman who dreams of being an influencer on social media to escape her poor life. As she tries to achieve her dream, she also has to be a ‘mother’ to her father, a 45-year-old man who has the mind and emotions of a 5-year-old. Zeynep dreams big and tries to get away from her problems, in her little room. As she works cleaning the house of the influencer Ozan, one day she meets the businesswoman Sitare, the owner of an agency and head of several influencers on social networks.
Love & Hate, is another of the titles that the company is promoting. It is the first series produced by D Productions and directed by Serdar Gözelekli, the director of the romantic comedies Love Trap and Twist of Fate. It tells the story of Tolga, a famous young actor who is at the top of his career but is dissatisfied with his life; and Asya, a normal girl who dreams of studying at the university, but has to work in a shopping center. Their paths will cross by coincidence. Tolga will pay a heavy price for underestimating Asya, while she will be forced into a world that does not interest her.
The third title that Kanal D is introducing is Three Sisters, a series based on the bestselling novel by İclal Aydın, which takes place in the late 90s, that tells the story of three sisters named Türkan, Dönüş and Derya, who face the harsh realities of life and dream of a bright future. Türkan, the eldest daughter, is naive, silent, and romantic, and was born to be the perfect wife. The second daughter is Dönüş, she studies in high school, she is preparing to take the university exam, and since she loves to read and write, she intends to write a novel. On the other hand, the favourite daughter is Derya, and like her sister, she studies at the university while she prepares to take the university entrance exam. She is rebellious, intelligent, outspoken, lively, and strong. Although the three sisters have different personalities, they are very close to each other. Their lives suddenly change when the Kormans, a wealthy family, ask Turkan for her hand in marrying her son Somer.
Finally, Kanal D presents Veda Mektubu in the market, its new acquisition starring the stars Rabia Soytürk and Nurgül Yeşilçay. Produced by Most Production and Gül Oğuz, it tells a story based on true events. The series is directed by Deniz Çelebi Dikilitaş, and the script is written by Deniz Akçay. In addition to its impressive cast, Veda Mektubu is a moving story that surely will to captivate fans of Turkish series.
