Kanal D International hosted one of the largest social events at MIPCOM 2025, using the party to focus on its new drama series, Sins and Roses. The event, held in a highly festive atmosphere, drew a significant number of international buyers from both broadcasters and streaming platforms, alongside executives from the distribution company and the series’ lead actors.
Elif Tatoğlu, Distribution Strategy Director, highlighted the company’s strong commitment to the series. She explained that Sins and Roses follows the successful model of classic Turkish dramas, but with a crucial difference in its narrative structure: the male character serves as the protagonist, and his wife is the villain.
Tatoğlu noted that the protagonist’s marriage of many years, which includes children, begins to crumble when he loses faith in love due to his wife’s actions. The story gains momentum when he meets the female co-star. Tatoğlu positioned the series as an exemplary story of opposing narratives for programmers who have previously enjoyed Kanal D’s most successful dramas.
