With a cocktail party announced for June 29, 6 pm at ÖTKERT, Kanal D International (Turkey) expects a great NATPE Budapest International (June 27-30) highlighting its premium drama Three Sisters, the romantic comedy Love and Hate and the medical drama Hekimoglu.
Kanal D International continues to spread worldwide its top series productions. After a successful MIPTV and LA Screenings, the company headed by Ekin Koyuncu Karaman, executive director, attends NATPE Budapest International where it offers seven high-end series of different genres. From Süreç Films, its premium drama Three Sisters (54x’44) heads the catalog: it’s an adaptation of the instant bestseller penned by the acclaimed author İclal Aydın. In the end of ’90s, there lived three sisters named Türkan, Dönüş and Derya. As a close-knit family, they would dream of a promising future every night. After spending years with their family in a fairy tale, on the pine-scented streets of Ayvalık, each will face with the harsh facts of real life.
Love and Hate (on air) is the first romantic comedy of the catalog. Directed by Serdar Gözelekli (Love Trap and Twist of Fate), it is the first series produced by D Productions as its re-launch project. Tolga is a famous young actor at the top of his career but dissatisfied with his life and Asya is an ordinary girl who dreams of studying at university but working as a shop assistant in a shopping center. The paths of these two people (with totally different life perspectives) crosses coincidentally, and black and white collides. While Asya suddenly finds herself in a life that she has not interested in, Tolga, the lover of young girls, will pay a heavy price for underestimating Asya.
Hekimoglu (157x’44) is the medical drama from Ojo Pictures: the local version of the hit US scripted series House M.D. starred Timuçin Esen as Ateş Hekimoğlu who is an acclaimed infectious diseases specialist and nephrology physician. With his team of 3 young doctors Hekimoglu, does whatever it takes to solve the most puzzling cases in his way. Avşar Film’s Ruthless City (136x’46) tells the story of 2 family members’ test with the sin» after an indecent deal. While the first season reflects the duality of the good and the evil within each person, the second season reveals the evil side of the characters. And Twist of Fate (58x’43) is a romantic comedy from ARC Film: what happens when a superstitious beautiful young girl tries to keep her «marriage fraud» to avoid being «happily n’ever after» and has to work with a handsome Alpha-Male boss who has tightly close doors against love? The fate twists and Cupid hits both of them so hard with its arrow.
Last but not least, two romancing comedies closed the line up: Recipe of Love (41x’43) from NTC Medya where a chef at a humble kebab restaurant Fırat’s life changes with the coaching given by Doctor Love on the TV. He wants to bring him down a notch. This furious journey takes him to a nice French restaurant… As an ex-chef devoted to French cusine Fırat re-joins with his secret passion and meets love again, with the owner of this restaurant Naz Soyluer. And Love Trap (136x’41), where the marriage game between poor girl Ayşe and rich boy Kerem started as a «love trap» will bound them forever and will never let them out.
