Kanal D International comeback to MIPCOM to showcase its line-up to the global buyers. The company highlights its seasonal titles, remarking the family drama Three Sisters, which recently was acquired by Panama’s Medcom, among other Latin markets.
Three Sisters is the series based on İocal Aydın’s best-selling novel, which takes place in the late 90s, and tells the story of three sisters named Türkan, Dönüş and Derya, who face harsh reality of life and dream of a bright future. In addition to Medcom, the series was sold to Wapa TV and TV Pasiones in Puerto Rico, as well as Ecuavisa in Ecuador and Imagen TV in Mexico.
Other of its highlights at MIPCOM is A Father’s Promise (45’), which follows a struggling factory worker who faces dire financial circumstances in a quest to save his wife’s life. The film is currently on production by Pastel Film.
Also the drama Premium Daylight, which is currently in production. The series will be show its first images at MIPCOM. Canan Koca, International Content Sales Specialist said about it: ‘This summer we are going to have a new series called Daylight, which will be based on two young people in love, a teenage drama. And it is already on our slate at Mipcom’.
Meanwhile Farewell letter, with a plot that combines two of the company’s classic narrative elements: love and family. The series begins with Ziya and Alanur, who were about to get married, but the young Ziya suddenly disappears.In addition, That Girl continues its international path. The story follows Zeynep, a young woman who dreams of being an influencer on social networks to escape her poor life. As she tries to achieve her dream, she also has to be a ‘mother’ to her father, a 45-year-old man who has the mind and emotions of a 5-year-old. Zeynep dreams big and tries to get away from her problems, in her little room. While she works cleaning the house of the influencer Ozan, one day she meets the businesswoman Sitare, owner of an agency and head of several influencers on social networks.
