LAVS 2021, more worldwide

After the first week of LA Virtual Screenings, we can say that the expected trends about attendance per regions came true. The first days there was a predominance of the Americas, especially Latin America, both in participants and content screenings. With the days, we see appearing more European and Asian buyers, that grew from 20 to 30%, and from 9 to 15%, respectively, in the attached pie.

So far, they haven’t changed the rankings of Top booths and contents, because the Latin names continue on top, but these days we see (a bit more) a growth of other regions, especially the Turkish and European series, which are more allocated among the leading positions. Next days we will check the share of type of contents, genres, and we should see a change there. European and Asian buyers prefer short than long series, for instance.

At the last dailies we’ve been including listings of buyers from different places. Last Friday for example, there were concretely attending broadcasters and OTTs from Vietnam, Indonesia, Iraq, The Philippines, South Africa, UAE, Lebanon, Nigeria, Algeria, apart from European Slovenia, Czech Republic, Poland, etc. This more varied mix will continue growing the second week, when usually second tier buyers and people from ancillary businesses, as gaming, advertising, licensing, take the scene. LAVS will provide good contacts all days.
