LAVS 2021: The evolution of the top booths and contents

Today in the main daily newsletter article of LA Virtual Screenings, there are the Top 15 rankings of May 13, yesterday. Here we complete the Top 15 tables of the accumulated three days of the market (so far). What can be stressed about trends?

ViacomCBS International Studios is a strong leader, both in booths and contents. The Latin distributors, especially Brazilian Globo and Mexican Televisa, keep a leading position that didn’t have at the two previous VS events. But the Colombians Caracol TV and RCN are the ones with higher growth the last day, if we consider this tables and the main daily ones.

The Turkish distributors are better day by day, they started slowly but the VS Next showcase helped to push screenings. And about Western European providers, among other Spanish exhibitors, RTVE is having a great market, escalating among the Top 5 booths and with two series among the Top 15 contents.

Trends about genres? It is seen more in the daily rankings than the accumulated ones, but behind the leadership of fictions –mainly long series– there are slowly appearing the other options: entertainment formats, kids & family, docs & factual, etc. The friendly format of LAVS –with binge-screenings in a Netflix alike interface– let all kinds of exhibitors and products be accessed by the buyers.
